After college we had planned to do the first bit of filming for our piece. However, with two people of our group missing due to illness. we had a few problems. But, we carried on due to having needed to show are rushes in class the next day. Morgy and i went to shoot in the dark room in photography as that was the setting for our film. We notice with two people short we where unable to shot any shot reverse shots or over the shoulder shots. However, there where some shots we could do, for example the establishing shot, are photo scene and a few others.
For our first shot in our film we have a a person going through a door and cutting to inside the room. however because we where in the dark we had to use the cupboard door which we then stuck a sign on the door saying "dark room" for a medium shot as a establishing shot so the audience know where the setting of our characters are. plus we had also planned that we had the room dark to make shot the scene realistic as one of the characters are developing a photo. However as Amiee knew how to set up the lights wen had planned and was unable to attend, we did the shots in the light. This was until we discovered on the camera the night vision setting. therefore we decided to do the shots once in the light and again the night vision with only the red lights on. this was so when we come to edit our film we could then have an option and give our other group members a choice in that part of the filming too.
Some shots we did went smoothly but others were not as easy for example our photo scene. This was the shot where to planned to film a photograph falling down from top to bottom of the frame. We found out that this shot took many takes due to the placing where the photo fell as it always landed in the wrong spot. For example it would land either half out of the frame or not in the frame at all. Due to this process taking so long, we decided to get a shot of the photo on the floor the way we wanted it just in case we could not manage to get the shot we wanted. however , we we tried to re- shoot again in night vision we did achieve the shot we wanted.
