25/11/09 - Capture And Edit

In today's lesson we started to capture our work that we had filmed making sure that we only had to capture the filming that we want to use. We did this by viewing our clips on the computer camera and press record to record the clip that we wanted.I found this a little bit hard as i had to make sure that when pressing stop that it stopped on the right part instead of going over onto the next shot. After finishing capturing we then went through all of the clips that we had and started to edit each clip. We did this as for some of our film we had to remove the parts such as when someone is saying action or the part that is overextended. once we did this we then places each clip on to the time line. From doing a rough first cut we, as a group, have found that later on or in the next lesson, that we need to work on the speed of some shots as we felt they go too fast and it seems like it is breaking the continuity. Also that from having trouble in capturing by not pressing stop after record at the wrong time, i have cut a part of dialogue out. this means that it needs recapturing.
